The X Factor judge, who has been announced as the new face of Marks & Spencer, can now also add modelling to her comprehensive CV. Dannii is currently in South Africa filming the new campaign, which launches in March. On her Twitter feed, Dannii said today: 'I'm so excited to be a Marks & Spencer girl. 'On the beach shooting your Spring campaign.' But will Dannii's new role steal the limelight from current High Street darling Myleene Klass, who has been successfully fronting the campaign since 2007 but will not feature in the upcoming ad? A spokesperson for M&S said: 'Myleene Klass will remain a key member but will be working on a number of different projects including M&S Money and M&S Online TV.'

What an anti-climax: G-spot is a myth

A sexual quest that has for years baffled millions of women — and men — may have been in vain. A study by British scientists has found that the mysterious G-spot, the sexual pleasure zone said to be possessed by some women but denied to others, may not exist at all. The scientists at King’s College London who carried out the study claim there is no evidence for the existence of the G-spot — supposedly a cluster of internal nerve endings — outside the imagination of women influenced by magazines and sex therapists. They reached their conclusions after a survey of more than 1,800 British women. “Women may argue that having a G-spot is due to diet or exercise, but in fact it is virtually impossible to find real traits,” said Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology, who co-authored the research. “This is by far the biggest study ever carried out and it shows fairly conclusively that the idea of a G-spot is subjective.” In the research, 1,804 British women aged 23-83 answered questionnaires. All were pairs of identical or non-identical twins. Identical twins share all their genes, while non-identical pairs share 50% of theirs. If one identical twin reported having a G-spot, this would make it far more likely that her sister would give the same answer. But no such pattern emerged, suggesting the G-spot is a matter of the woman’s subjective opinion.

Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins call it quits after 23 years

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, the lovebirds-turned-Hollywood power couple who met while filming 1988's "Bull Durham," separated over the summer after 23 years together and have called it quits. Today it was made official. Publicist Teal Cannady confirmed the split and said no further comments are forthcoming. Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, have two sons together -- Jack, 20, and Miles, 17. Sarandon has a daughter, actress Eva Amurri, from a previous relationship. Though they were together for more than two decades the couple never married, attracting attention for that, for the difference in their ages and for their liberal political activism. As a couple, they supported John Edwards' presidential candidacy but then shifted support to Barack Obama -- though you probably won't find Susan playing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton any time soon.

Tiger Woods was due to be interviewed by police today following allegations that he crashed his 4x4 after an argument with his wife, who was said to have attacked the vehicle with a golf club. The 33-year-old golf superstar’s Cadillac Escalade struck a fire hydrant before hitting a tree near his Florida villa at 2.25am on Friday. His representatives have described it as a minor accident. But leading Hollywood website TMZ claimed Woods’s Swedish-born wife, Elin Nordegren, told authorities the crash followed a row over ‘a domestic issue’. ‘Tiger gave the same story to authorities at the hospital where he was treated,’ TMZ said. The row allegedly began when Elin, 29, confronted him over lurid claims – published last week in the tabloid National Enquirer and celebrity magazine Star – that he had romantic liaisons in the US and Australia with New York nightclub hostess and party planner Rachel Uchitel, 34. TMZ claimed Elin scratched his face before he dashed out of their waterfront mansion and drove away.

The identity of Belle de Jour, the woman who wrote of her experiences as a London escort in a series of blogs and books which became the TV series Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper, has finally been revealed. She is a 34-year-old scientist called Dr Brooke Magnanti who decided to come clean and tell the Sunday Times columnist India Knight of her secret, reportedly to foil a Daily Mail scoop. Magnanti works at the Bristol Initiative for Research of Child Health where she told her colleagues her secret last month. They were, she said, amazingly kind and supportive". They are, incidentally, all women. Not even Belle's literary agent was aware of her true identity, which has led to considerable speculation about who was writing the blogs and books. The novelists Isabel Wolff and Sarah Champion have both been suspected, as has the former Erotic Review editor Rowan Pelling. Many thought it was a man masquerading as a woman - and Toby Young was a prime suspect. No one suspected a young woman with a PhD in informatics, epidemiology and forensic science. Magnanti took her pseudonym from the 1967 Bunuel film Belle de Jour starring Catherine Deneuve as a comfortably-off housewife who turns to prostitution out of boredom. Magnanti's motive, however, was not boredom but financial necessity: in 2003, in the final stages of her PhD, she ran out of money. Unable to afford her rent, she says she asked herself: "What can I do that I can start doing straightaway, that doesn't require a great deal of training or investment to get started, that's cash in hand and that leaves me spare time to do my work in?" She joined a London escort agency and the rest is history.

The Carrie Prejean saga goes from bad to worse. The former Miss California, who was sacked from the role after her views on gay marriage became known, was suing the organisers - Miss California USA - for $1m in damages. She claimed she had beenb fired unfairly and that they had wrongly disclosed confidential information about her breast implants. The pageant organisers' countersuit was that Prejean had violated the terms of being Miss California, which demand that contestants guarantee that they have not appeared in nude videos or pictures in their past. And to prove that Prejean had broken the terms, they came to a meeting on Friday armed with a surprise tape of the 22-year-old engaged in a "solo" sex act. According to the gossip site TMZ.com, which claims to have seen the video some months ago, the "X-rated version of Home Alone" was "too racy" to be posted. This didn't stop TMZ from describing the scene at the meeting between Prejean and Miss California USA and their respective lawyers. "When the video started playing, Carrie's first reaction was 'that's disgusting'," reports TMZ.com, which claims to have spoken to some of the lawyers present. To begin with there was no face in shot and Carrie denied it was her. "Then, the camera angle changed ... and panned up to her face. She was caught red-handed, so to speak. Carrie was rendered speechless and immediately began talking with her lawyer. "We're told it took about 15 seconds for Carrie to drop her $1m demand."
