No Valentines Day in Saudi Arabia as Red Roses are banned

Saudi Arabia has banned the sale of red roses. The country which operats strict Islamic law has banned the sale of red roses and red gifts and wrapping paper for valentines day.

The government has a strict policy of not allowing the celebration of non-Islamic festivals and a history of coming down hard on any contact between unmarried men and women.

Reports say that there is now a black market for red roses and many plan to celebrate Valentines day in neighbouring countries. Some florists even plan to deliver their Valentine orders in the dead of night to avoid the religious police.
